Snow Much Fun

This morning Hannah, Lexi and I decided to go to my dad's house to play in the snow. My brother Matt and his friend Eddie were out of school and wanted to play with Hannah. They built a Snowwoman for Hannah. She turned out to be pretty cute, except for the Spiderman hat my brother insisted on. I put some fresh flowers from my dad's Hibiscus Tree on her head. Hannah loved the snow. This was the first time she has really enjoyed it. She was giving the snowwoman kisses and hugs. Lexi loved the snow. She loved chasing Madison (my dad's dog) and running in the snow. I felt sorry for her; the snow was sticking to her legs! But everyone had a good time.

Hannah's Big Girl Bed

Last week DJ and I made the decision to convert Hannah's crib to a toddler bed. I got the idea from my pediatrician at Hannah's 2 year check-up. I know some of you are thinking that I am a glutton for punishment. I'm NOT! At first, I was real sceptical of the idea. Thinking she would not stay put all night. But we decided to do it anyway. The first night, she treated it a s a "crib" and stayed put all night and just cried a little when we put her to bed. The next morning when she woke up she got out of bed and came to my room to wake me up. (It was pretty cute.) However, she had discovered she wasn't trapped as before. At nap time she got out a couple of times but was so tired that she finally went to sleep in the bed. The real fun was that night (the second night). We laid her down and turned off all the lights in the house and went to bed ourselves. She got up a bunch of times. At one time she had brought her blanket and pillow and had "camped" out in front of our door. (I couldn't help but laugh at the site!) But eventually she fell asleep in her bed. Now that it has been a couple of days, she is staying in her bed almost every time. IT WORKED! She is now sleeping in a toddler bed like a big girl! I am so proud. I really thought it would be a nightmare, but she has done really well. I will post a picture soon. (don't have any yet) The next step is potty training!

Hannah's Birthday Party

We had Hannah's Party on Saturday. Even though it was rainy outside, we had a good time inside. Hannah had all her family and a friend from the neighborhood over to celebrate. My dad cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for us. The theme was caterpillers and butterflies. While we were waiting on the burgers, Hannah opened her gifts. Then we ate and Hannah had her cupcake. She really dug into it this year, unlike last year where she through a fit. I was so busy that I forgot to put the candle on her cupcake and so the Happy Birthday Song was forgotten. Something I will pay for later in life when she is old enough to watch the video! But other than that, the party was a success. We had fun and so did Hannah. (The pictures were taken off the video, so they are a little fussy, sorry.)

Lexi's Big Girl Haircut

I like to think of my dog as part of the family. I consider her my daughter. She is now 7 months old. Potty training is pretty much under control, unless it rains! At the end of January I decided she was big enough to have a "schnauzer" hair cut. I have taken her to the groomers more than a couple of times to get her ready for the big one. So on Jan. 28th I took Lexi to PetSmart for her first Big Girl Haircut. She looks so good now. Before she just looked like a scruffy puppy that was in immediate need of a haircut. She looks all grown up now!

Playing Mommy...

Well, after playing mommy all morning, Hannah decided it was time for the baby to take a nap. I thought it would be nice to have a little bed for the baby. Hannah thought it would be nice too. I found a basket that was just the right size and a small pillow that would fit just right in the bottom and I used another little pillow for the baby's head. We put the baby in the basket bed and covered her with a pillow case. At this moment, Hannah thought it would also be nice if she joined the baby in the SMALL basket bed. I let her and now she wants to take her nap in the basket bed with the baby. What is a mommy to do?
