Happy Birthday Iva!

In November we celebrated Iva's 2nd Birthday in Eureka Springs. Iva is our niece from DJ's sister, Betsy and her husband Tim. They moved to Eureka Springs last winter and this was the first time we got to spend a lot of time with them since they moved. Iva and Hannah are about 9 months apart in age and they play so well together. Here are some photos of the party in November.

Helping with Laundry

Hannah loves to help with laundry. Some of her favorite things to help with are carring laundry to the washer in the hamper, loading the washer, loading the dryer, and helping put away the laundry. This is a welcomed help since I don't like doing any of these things! Here are a few pictures of Hannah as she helped me one day. Notice the socks on her hands. This is another thing she likes to do: wear socks on her hands instead of her feet. ** Those are clean socks by the way! ** :)

Halloween Pictures

Here are some old photos of Hannah at Halloween. I know, a little late! But here they are none the less. I don't have any photos of Thanksgiving and Christmas on my camera. I will try to get some from other family members. I have been so bad this year about taking photos. I am going to do better! Here is Halloween '08.

These are our neighbors, very sweet people. They passed out a BAG of candy to each child. Hannah wanted to give a bag to daddy too!

Tooth Talk

Today I had an appointment to have my teeth cleaned. I decided to make the appointment on a day DJ had off so he could help me with Hannah. I wanted her to go with me to see what it was like at the dentist's office. I am preparing her for her first visit in a year or so. I don't want her to be scared when she goes, so we showed her what it was like when they polished my teeth at the end. She got a prize and a new toothbrush. She also got to play with the mirror tool too. She really enjoyed all the fun stuff, but would not allow Angela (my hygienist) to look at her teeth. She like the TV right above my head and demanded to watch cartoons on it. I thought that would for sure get her in the chair, but not this time. So next time I will take her back with me and maybe we can make more progress then. I am not in a rush to get her to the dentist since her teeth are fine. There is one tooth we are watching to make sure it doesn't have damage. She fell on it earlier this year and now it is starting to look a shade darker than her other ones. But other than that she has good gums and teeth. She loves to brush them (more like lick the toothpaste off the brush) and she will let me brush them so they get cleaned right. Hopefully she will enjoy going to the dentist as she gets used to it. She has gotten better with her doctor, so I am sure with time the dentist will not be a scary place either!

Flying, Nesting or Both?

I have been keeping my house clean (not just picked up) for almost a month. Let me explain quickly what this entails. I can have anyone over at the last minute without feeling embarrassed. The majority of the house is picked up and about 2/3 of that is cleaned. I still have some rooms/areas I would like to clean up and go through! Who doesn't? I thought it was my was all part of my FlyLady system. I have been faithful to work on it almost ever day. However, I have come to the conclusion that FlyLady is not the only thing keeping me going. I am pregnant and must be in my nesting phase. I didn't go through this phase with Hannah. Back then it was easy to keep the house clean and I was at work all day and not at the house. So that could explain why I didn't "nest" with Hannah. But with Trey, I am always cleaning. And I LIKE it! If you know me, you know that my house is always in CHAOS unless I am expecting company. And you know I HATE house work, especially laundry. (Which I am proud to say I have been keeping up with!) SO, is it FlyLady, pregnancy or a combo of Flying and nesting? I don't know. I guess we will see after Trey gets here! What keeps you motivated?

Another Miracle on Markham

I am not a big sports fan, but my husband is. I have followed the Razorbacks in the past and enjoyed being a faithful follower. This year has been a lot different. I haven't kept up with them at all. Last night was the famous Battle of the Boot Game with LSU. In the past years, this game has always been exciting. I was at the Little Rock game a few years back when the Razorbacks beat LSU in the last few seconds and won the SEC championship. OK, maybe it was some time ago, but it was one of the best football games I have ever been too. DJ and I were still in collage at UAMS and just dating. It was a very memorable experience. Well, now the Razorbacks have a new memorable experience and sadly I missed it. I was not expecting the Razorbacks to score, much less win the game. I was impressed when DJ told me they won. I watched the last few minutes from our recording of the game last night with DJ. He was so excited and dancing to the band's songs. Now there is a true fan! Sadly I was not at the game so I don't have this awesome experience to tell you about first hand, nor do I have any photos of the game or tailgating to show you. I just thought I would express my mind and say that I will never doubt the Razorbacks again. Just another Miracle on Markham, Razorbacks Win!
