Few random pictures

Trey LOVES angry birds!

Hannah using her Easy Bake Oven her Aunt Betsy got her for Christmas.

The last part of Hannah's room is finally finished. They are 9 individual tiles hung together. The four on the corners are pin boards where she can hang her art and pictures. One is a peg board where she can hang things on hooks. One is a calendar, one a chalk board and two are dry erase boards. She loves them and so do I.

Snow Fun

Well since we had no electricity, we played in the snow! Glad to have the family time, even though DJ had to go to work. The snow wasn't the best for snow fights or snowmen, so we just played in other ways!

 IT WAS COLD!

DJ's trying to get to work. Clearing his car was a chore. He was so persistent to get to work! Seeing as we got 6-12 inches of snow he has a crazy good work ethic if you ask me!

Trey asking DJ to help build a snowman.

Lexi having fun in the snow. She had to get a warm bath afterwards to get the snow out of her hair. She wasn't too excited about the bath.

Still trying to get to work. Although at this point he got stuck and a friend with 4 wheel drive had to come pick him up. The car is just not made for snow and ice!

Hannah working on her snow angel.

Trey didn't like the cold part of the snow, but he really wanted to make a snow angel too!

Both kid's snow angels.

Toys, Snow and No Electricity...

The kids had a very nice Christmas. Hannah received Lego's, doll stuff and a whole lot of stuff from other family members! Thanks everyone! Trey got new puzzles, cars, angry bird games and a whole lot of stuff from other family members. Thanks everyone!

This was the first year we didn't go to DJ's parents house on Christmas morning. Usually we would wake up, open the gifts, play for a minute, eat breakfast and then rush out the door to have Christmas with his parents. This year we did Christmas with them the Sunday before. It was really nice to take it easy Christmas morning. We spend the day having fun playing with the new toys and being lazy in our pajamas!

Hannah playing with the Harry Potter Lego castle she got. She needed a basilisk though and so she found a toy snake just the right size. She loves the second movie, one of her favorites!

The coolest thing happened that night....it snowed! ON CHRISTMAS!!! The first time in a very long time it snowed on Christmas. Hannah and Trey were trilled.

Despite her sad face, she loved going out to catch a snowflake on her tongue. I think she was just cold!

The snow storm was pretty large and cause our electricity to go out for two days. So we bunked in the living room with the gas fireplace to keep us warm! Our couch is a sectional, so it worked nicely as a bed after moving things around!

Christmas Eve

Although we don't really push the Santa idea, our kids still like to believe. This year Hannah has decided that Santa doesn't exist for real because...."reindeer can't fly". She knows it is actually Mommy and Daddy that brings her the gifts. But we still play along for Trey. "Santa" was pretty generous this year!

The stockings did not stay hung, I was afraid they would fall with the extra weight.

The Lego table and organizer are for both kids, although Hannah is the primary user.

They both got bicycles and gear. Hannah has a helmet from before so Trey needed one. Angry Birds of course!

Trey also got a basketball goal.

Hannah left a picture for "Santa" beside his cookies and milk. "Santa" signed it and ate all the yummy cookies!

Family Ice Skating

DJ and I took the kids ice skating at a local ice skating arena. They had a blast. At first the ice was pretty slick and it took some getting used to. Hannah soon learned that she could do it on her own, without holding on to the rail or our hands. Trey never did get the hang of it on his own, but he enjoyed holding our hands and skating with DJ and I. We all had a great time!

Kid's Christmas Parties

December 20th ~ Trey's Preschool Christmas Party
He was really excited to eat cupcakes!

They were really good! (Sorry blurry photo)

The class had prepared a few singing masterpieces for us. Away in the Manger, Jingle Bells, and another I'm not sure of the name. They were all so cute, especially during Jingle Bells. That must have been their favorite!

This is Trey's best friend, Griffin. They love playing with each other. We have had a play date with him outside of school. I'm thinking life long friends!

December 21st ~ Hannah's 1st Grade Christmas Party

Hannah patiently waiting for the party to start.

 They did a gift exchange.

She got some neat hair accessories.

She was REALLY excited about decorating gingerbread houses. She mostly wanted to eat the candy!

 This is her friend Gabriella.

Silly girls!

Our newest family member...

Meet Charla, our hamster.

Hannah has had some good and bad days at school, behavior wise. So to encourage her to do better we started a sticker chart reward system. She wanted a hamster, so we worked hard to EARN one. The first 30 stickers went toward the hamster cage. The second 30 stickers earned her the actual hamster. Hannah named her Charla (like Charlotte, but not exactly)! She is a pretty fun pet. I didn't have one growing up and didn't really think I would like one. But she has been a surprisingly fun pet! Hannah loves to hold her, but must be supervised. She will take some time to warm up to all of us. She doesn't bite though, which was something I was worried about. She is a little skittish, but hopefully that will ease up as she is around us more.

Fall Fun

Our back yard is pretty big and gets A LOT of leaves in the fall. Today DJ and the kids (including our niece Iva) got out there to blow and rake them up. Of course they had to play in them too!

 Hannah and Trey helping rake.

We have two small, kid size rakes, I'm not sure why he insisted on the adult one. But he was so cute trying to use it!

Hannah was buried in the pile!

Iva wanted to be buried too!

Then of course we had to throw the leaves in the air (and ultimately mess up the pile)!

 Having a blast!

 Now back to work!!!

I know this is probably not a good picture by photography standards, but I just love it! Love my Hannah Bear!

 Oops, caught playing again!

Lexi wanted to join the fun too!

I think Lexi made a bigger mess than the kids!

 Back to work again....

Or maybe not! :)
