The Wonder Place

I took the kids to The Wonder Place the end of January. Our church paid for the kids and half of my price and so we were not going to miss it. Hannah really likes going there to play in the tree house, the market, the wind tunnels and the sand. This was Trey's first time to go. He had fun chewing on wooden blocks and playing with his friend J. Here are some pictures!

Hannah playing with the wind tunnel
Hannah playing under the tree house in the wooden kitchen
Trey having a good time playing in the "under 2" area.
This doesn't have anything to do with The Wonder Place, but I thought it was too funny not to post. Hannah got mad at Trey for "bugging" her while she was coloring, so she retaliated...and marked on his head with a blue marker.

Snow, Goose Egg, and Teething...

This is the extent of the snow that fell at our house. It started in the morning around 8am and was gone by noon...I mean melted completely. Hannah didn't even really get to play in it...so no pictures of that.
This was Hannah's idea of keeping Trey away from the Christmas stuff while we took down our tree. I couldn't stop laughing. She finally let her prisoner loose!
Trey got his first goose egg on his forehead this week. It scared me to death. It is amazing how fast it swelled up. He wouldn't hold still for me to get a better picture. But this pose does show his teeth pretty well. He has four total and is working on one on the top, but you can't see it here.
This is my remedy for Trey's teething habits. He has started to teeth on the bed rails. I looked online for a solution and found two. There were some soft "gummie" covers that had BAD reviews. They were just too expensive to try. And the other option were cloth covers. They had much better reviews but there were kinda expensive too. And there was no guaranty they would fit right. So I decided to make my own. Here are the results. They don't match his room, but hopefully they will save his crib from being damaged. (Just pretend you don't see a pink sheet, we use Hannah's old sheets in addition to Trey's blue ones!)

Hannah the Cosmetologist

Hannah got her scissors Tuesday night and cut her hair...short. Here is a picture before she cut it...isn't she pretty with long hair!

Here is a picture the morning after...she was so proud! She cut her bangs, sides and top pretty short. The sides and top are all chopped at different lengths.
Not sure why she is frowning here...she was actually quite happy. But here is a side view.
This is after I took her to my hairdresser. She was able to salvage most of it. Her bangs are much shorter and her back is like a bob. She still has places on the sides and top that are different lengths, but there was nothing she could do about it.
I was really in shock...and so sad when I noticed what she had done. But more than anything I was mad at myself (and DJ) for not putting the scissors up when she was finished. Hopefully it will grow out some before her birthday in February. We will see. I am having some cute bows made so she wont look so much like a boy! Maybe that will be the difference.

Merry Christmas!

This past week we had our picture taken for our Christmas cards. I decided this year we would go to the state capitol and take them there. The inside (and outside) was all decorated so pretty for the holiday and made for a perfect backdrop. Here are a few of the many that were taken (the best).
The Jackson's ~ Christmas '09
The kids. Hannah wouldn't smile right in most of the pictures and this one was just too cute. Hannah loves to pose for pictures in different ways and this was what she decided to do for this picture.
Daddy and Trey. Trey was a happy little guy the whole time.
DJ's parents, sister and niece went with us to help with the photos. The girls (Iva and Hannah) had a great time. They loved climbing the stairs and running around (despite our efforts to control them)! After we saw the capitol and took all the pictures we needed, we decided to go to Sherwood Forrest to see all the Christmas lights there. Hannah really enjoyed that!
My family and I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May God bless everyone this season!

What should I do?

Since Thanksgiving is just a few days away, I have been thinking about Christmas a lot this week. Usually I have already decorated my house (I like to do it when DJ goes to deer camp for opening week) and have already done most of my shopping (or at least have my list). NOT THIS YEAR! I guess maybe it is because I have a newborn, maybe because DJ didn't spend a week in camp this year or just maybe it is because I have had my head stuck in the Twilight books for several weeks now (just finished reading them for the second time). Take your pick...my guess is all three!

I haven't really wanted to put up a tree since Trey is crawling and getting into everything. I can't get him to sit still! HA! He has discovered that going from room to room is fun. His favorite things to get into are the chess set in my entertainment center and the dog's water dish. I can only imagine what my tree will look like after I put it up and he notices. I am a little scared about that.

I haven't really had time to do much shopping since being a mom of two really takes all my time and I have been using any spare time to read. The books are great and I would say to read them if you have any romantic bone in your body (girls and boys alike). However be prepared to spend all your extra time in them because they are addicting. I think I have gotten my fix for now. I have more pressing issues to think about now. Maybe after Thanksgiving I will decorate the house and do some shopping. Maybe then I will feel the Christmas spirit.

Am I the only one out there like this?

And More pics...

Ok, this is the 3rd and last post of recent pics...next time I will put them all in one post!
Trey sitting up for the first time in his crib all by himself. He started doing this about a week ago and now he is crawling! I don't have any pics of that because I am video challenged and can't download the video.

Love our hooded towels
